Adding new sparks of innovation into the smartwatch market, Haier has revealed its latest wrist watch, which in addition to several fitness-orientated features incorporates a built-in projector.
While the watch is largely still a prototype, the device’s built in projector enables a user to display images onto their hand – essentially a second screen.
Haier’s smartwatch is set to launch in China sometime next quarter, with international details yet to be confirmed.
At current, the watch’s projector is largely fitness-orientated. For example, when running the projector will display information such as distance, and progression to fitness goals. The watch screen will provide controls to pause/play a workout.
The watch’s projector also supports a drawing app, and an entertaining ‘dancing man’ app which projects a little animation onto the user’s hand.
As its still in development, its not unlikely Haier may add further uses for the smartwatch’s built-in projector.
It could, however, indicate the start of more intuitive smartwatches on the mass market, adding some spice into the current marketplace.
