BBC Worldwide has unleashed its free News app for Android OS devices.

The free app has already proved hugely popular on Apple iOS with over 3m downloads outside of the UK since it set sail in April last year.
The BBC app gives ‘Droids global news, business, politics, health, environment, technology and entertainment stories, as well as correspondent features and analysis from one of the most renowned media organizations globally.
Key features of the app include a large stash of videos for Flash and non-Flash enabled devices and let users personalise your home screen by adding and removing sections and is supported on Android devices versions 1.6 and above.
“The BBC News app has already been downloaded more than 220,000 times from iPads, iPhones and iPod touches in Australia and New Zealand,” said Scott Hamilton, BBC Worldwide Australia.
