Officeworks will stock PayPal Here chip and PIN card reader from today.
The PayPal Bluetooth enabled chip and PIN card reader allows small businesses to take card payments and will be sold for $139 at all 153 Officeworks stores countrywide and online.
PayPal Australia today announced the partnership with Woolworths-owned Officeworks and say it will allow more Australian businesses to securely accept multiple forms of payments, and meet growing consumer demand to pay with the digital wallet, said Andrew Rechtman, Senior Director of SMB, Retail and Strategy at PayPal Australia.
PayPal Here pairs with a consumers’ smartphone and accept chip and PIN MasterCard/Visa credit and debit card payments, and turns a smartphone into a mobile wallet. It also generates invoices and sends receipts.
“Now, anyone from a young entrepreneur to an established business owner, will be able to head into Officeworks, purchase a payments terminal and accept card payments straight away,” says Rechtman.
“This represents an exciting shift in the payments industry, providing businesses with access to funds with less hassle and fewer barriers to entry.”
