Armour, the UK based Hi Fi and consumer electronics group, who earlier this week dropped Crestmore as the distributor of their highly popular Q Acoustic range, is undertaking a major shakeup in Australia with the Company looking to expand their own operation in the country.
According to Armour Group CEO George Dexter, Australia and New Zealand are seen as growth markets.
Last year the Company moved Ruth Jones from the UK to act as Sales Manager in the region. Dexter said “Ruth’s appointment is all part of a larger strategy review focused on building our international business and reducing the reliance on the UK markets, which still account for a large part of our revenues. This strategy is working and our Home business has seen its international revenues increase significant on a year on year basis”.
What is not known is whether Armour will take over the distribution and sale of their entire range or whether they will consolidate their operations for all brands into one distribution operation with Armour staff managing sales and marketing.
Ian Bultitude, the CEO of Crestmore, said he was told last week that he would be losing the Q Acoustics business.
The brands currently distributed by Armour include Alphason, Audica, CinemaX, Goldring, Milty, Myryad, Q Acoustics, Q2, Q Install, Systemline, SoundStyle and QED.
