No Internet connectivity in sight of the lettuce, but Hitachi’s new R480ET5X literally smacks of tech cool – primarily due to its Triple Clean technology, claimed to keep food fresher longer.
The technological triumvirate comprises an advanced multiflow system, nano-titanium Filter and new negative-ion generator. Hitachi claims the result of these technologies is that clean air evenly distributes throughout to avoid concentrated pockets of cold air. Also that unwanted odours and bacteria to the scale of five nanometres are absorbed by negative ions floating throughout the interior, then captured and eliminated by an ultra-fine filter.
The stainless steel exterior is also clean-themed. It is said to sport a transparent antibacterial door coating which is claimed to be fingerprint- and dirt-resistant, and easily cleanable.
The 480 litre stainless steel beauty (RRP $1549) features shatter-resistant tempered glass shelving, which is claimed to hold up to 100 kilograms of food. How many hams is that?
