Even though most people listen to the radio when they’re driving, there’s only one manufacturer (Hino trucks) thus far that has incorporated the technology as standard.
For everyone else interested in high quality radio, you’ll have to resort to an aftermarket set up.
HiTV is offering one of the better options with a small, more convenient alternative. Its Viva DAB+ uses your car’s existing antennae, taking some of the hassle out of installation.
Audio is distributed through your car’s existing speakers by using a wired FM transmitter connection, preserving sound unlike some wireless alternatives.
Navigating through digital radio stations is carried out through a controller that has a simplistic interface. The controller is mounted to the driver console for easy access and is characterised by an understated design.
HiTV’s Viva is available now from authorised distributors with a $349 price tag.
