HP has announced a new netbook designed by Vivienne Tam. The new HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition made its runway design debut at New York Fashion Week as part of Tam’s spring 2010 collection.

The HP Mini sports a “Butterfly Lovers” design that is inspired by the classic Chinese love story, “Butterfly Lovers”, a tale of freedom, romance and inspiration. The design is integrated directly into the mini notebook’s lid using HP Imprint technology.
“As a fashion designer I have always found inspiration in bringing contrasting worlds together. I use computers in every aspect of my life so it seemed natural to marry fashion and technology. Together with HP, we have created this movement of fashionable tech accessories with the second-edition digital clutch,” said Tam.
The HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition also comes with a Butterfly Lovers desktop theme that includes an animated butterfly start menu, custom Vivienne Tam icons and three wallpapers to coordinate with the design.
Also included is a built-in webcam, HP QuickWeb, an additional 6-cell battery, as well as coordinated accessories such as a matching microfibre suede sleeve and Butterfly Lovers wireless mouse. The Vivienne Tam Mini also comes in exclusive gift-box packaging.
The HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition comes with two gigabytes of memory and large hard-drive options up to 320GB, automatic backup software and Microsoft Windows 7 Premium.
The HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition is expected to be available in Australia from mid-April 2010 with a starting price of $799.
