Printer giant boost directorships with ex eBay CEO, GE and Alcatel-Lucent bosses.
The latest changes in management team at the tech come following CEO Mark Hurd’s departure last August, following claims of sexual harassment by a soft porn actress.
One of several new directors of note is Meg Whitman, former president and CEO of eBay who HP say is “true visionary and thought leader,” who knows plenty about “building global brands and driving sustained growth and expansion.”
Other new appointments include Gary Reiner, former chief information officer of General Electric, Patricia Russo, ex- CEO of Alcatel-Lucent; Dominique Senequier, CEO at AXA Private Equity and Shumeet Banerji, CEO of Booz & Company.
“Each is a widely respected and deeply experienced business leader, and together they will provide our board and management team with new insight and perspectives relating to HP’s business and the rapidly changing technology industry.,” the company said in a statement yesterday.
The five new directors also will stand for re-election at HP’s next Annual Meeting of Stockholders in March swelling the number of board members to 17.
However, they anticipate this number to be reduced to 13 members next year.
“The addition of these new directors will further diversify the outstanding talents and wide-ranging experience that our directors already bring to HP,” said Raymond J. Lane, non-executive chairman of the board of directors, HP.
