HTC is days away from upgrading their Desire and Legend Smartphones to Android 2.2 updates according to company sources.
While no precise date has been set, the company owners of a Google Nexus One phone have already been getting updates as of Monday night.
Unlike the 2.1 update, HTC phones won’t get significant changes to the custom Sense UI and should instead get largely the underlying updates from Android 2.2. Faster performance, automatic updating and better Exchange support are certain, although tethering and Wi-Fi hotspot support aren’t as likely given carrier limits.
New revisions have historically been slow from HTC as it often has to test its own software before it can greenlight changes.
