Huawei, the Chinese smartphone who have recently made moves towards the premium end of the market with their Mate 9 and P9 handsets, are now looking to refresh their budget offering with the GR5.
The most important detail here is that the 2017 refresh of the GR5 will boast the same dual-lens rear camera as its high-end cousins.
Huawei say that the “GR5 2017’s 12MP and 2MP rear cameras work together to autofocus in just 0.3 seconds and give users a dynamic depth of field – creating portraits with beautiful Bokeh effects and wide-angle shots that simply aren’t possible with a single lens. What’s more, the Huawei GR5 2017 also features 1.25um large pixels for more clarity in low-light conditions, faster-than-fast ultra-snapshot to capture crisp images in an instant, and a wealth of manual and automatic modes – giving users all the power of a professional SLR camera, in a device that fits in their pocket.”
Beyond the camera, it also comes carrying a 5.5-inch full HD display, 3270mAH battery and Kirin 655 processor, wrapped together by a smooth uni-body design.
The Huawei GR5 2017 also includes 3GB internal RAM and 32GB on-board storage (with the potential for expansion via MicroSD).
It’ll be available through Vodafone for an RRP of $399 from April 12th.
