Imagine this: IBM executives high-fiving each other after posting strong sales figures in its international business, all this despite a shaky economy.
Net income for the quarter was reported up 22.3 per cent to $US 2.76 billion from $US2.26 billion last year, with revenue rising 12.8 per cent to $US26.8 billion from $US23.77 billion a year ago. Most analysts had been expecting revenue of $US25.92 billion.
IBM’s total global services revenues grew 8 per cent while the global technology services segment revenue increased at the same time to $US10.1 billion- an increase of 9 per cent.
The company reiterated its full-year outlook and is forecasting revenue of $US107 billion for this coming fiscal year.
Looks like its high-fives all round at IBM HQ.
