IceTV has announced a signi?cant update to one of its key software applications, the IceTV Widget. Version 2.1 adds personalised TV recommendations, bug ?xes and large speed improvements.

The IceTV Widget is a small application for viewing the TV guide, keeping track of your favourite shows automatically, searching the TV guide and seeing what TV shows are popular.
Once something interesting has been found, clicking “Record” will schedule the show to record at home on an IceTV Interactive compatible Media Center PC, Mac or PVR (personal video recorder). Clicking “Record Series” will automatically record every episode.
By recording TV shows or selecting shows as favourites via the IceTV Widget or IceTV website, IceTV can recommend other shows you might like to watch.
The new IceTV Widget requires a free IceTV account or IceTV subscription and is available for PC and Mac.
