But Android did not warrant such passionate loyalty with HTC and Samsung coming out on top as handsets users said they would buy again – at 39% and 28% respectively. Moto didn’t do too badly wirther with 28%.
And even more worrying for Android, one third of Android users revealed more than half are likely to switch to an iPhone, while just 10 percent plan to ditch Apple.
However, better news on the platform front – with 55% of current Android users declaring their wish to stick with the green man.
But BlackBerry loving level is also in freefall and has halved in 18 months to 33%, UBS Investment Research indicated and Nokia also fared badly with 24% retention rate.
And Apple, Samsung and HTC are among the only handsets that will add more customers than they lose.
“Demand for iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro remains robust, with a leading ecosystem that creates sticky demand,” UBS analysts noted.
“We believe new opportunities such as TV sets are not factored in by the market and we view the valuation as attractive.”
