Samsung-Harman owned audio equipment maker, JBL, has unveiled its latest soundbar and smart speaker offerings at IFA 2019 – boasting bigger sound across several price points.
The new JBL Bar 5.1 Surround and Bar 2.1 Deep Bass will stand alongside the existing Bar 5.1 and Bar 2.1 systems, not replace them.
The products do not offer built-in smart TV intelligence like the recently released JBL Link Bar.
The new JBL Bar 2.0 will be priced at a more competitive price point, with the other products targeting the affordable premium market.
While Australian pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed, all three new models will release internationally later this year.
The new JBL 5.1 Surround offers 550 watts of power, with MultiBeam technology and support for Chromecast, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
With HDMI 4K and Dolby Vision passthrough, the product will release from US$500.
The mid-range JBL Bar 2.1 Deep Bass offers 300 watts of power, without Wi-Fi connectivity.
The JBL Bar 2.0 All-in-One offers a soundbar without a subwoofer, and 80 watts of power.
JBL’s has also showcased its new LIVE 300TWS true wireless headphones, boasting up to 18 hours combined battery life, voice assistant integration and IPX5 sweatproof/waterproof certification.
Further taking on Google’s home-ground smart speaker portfolio, JBL has expanded its line-up with three new alternatives.
The new Link Music and Link Portable smart speakers will release internationally later this year, with Australian availability and pricing to be confirmed.
Also unveiled is revamped JBL Pulse, combining smart speaker specs in a light-up waterproof shell.
The new Pulse 4 claims to incorporate more LED lights, with USB-C charging and up to 12 hours of playtime.
