iiNet has opened an in-house research and development division in an effort to provide innovative products to its consumers.According to the company, the iiNet Labs will focus on producing ‘good looking, value for money products that both respond to consumer needs while setting technology trends.’
Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting today, iiNet’s CEO, Michael Malone, said that new products will be available in the coming months.
“The success of BoB and other industry firsts, like FetchTV and Naked DSL, demonstrate that iiNet is a market leader with innovative services and products. Operating in an extremely fast moving and competitive industry means we need to continuously evolve our offer. It is only natural that we developed our own in-house R&D capability to give us more control of our development and let us quickly respond to changing customer demands and trends,” said Malone.
“Our customers play a big role in what we do and we encourage them to be involved in the process by talking to us about what they want. iiNet Labs allows us to take customer feedback and turn ideas into realities. This is an exciting new phase for iiNet. Our people are enthusiastic and great at what they do. They live and breathe technology and iiNet Labs will harness their creativity and passion for creating new products – the sky is the limit,” concluded Malone.
