Intel has announced it will launch the mobile version 9th Gen Intel Core mobile H-series processors, including the new Intel Core i9 processor, in the second quarter of 2019.
First announced at the company’s October 2018 event, the “gaming chip” was given a tentative release timeframe at this year’s Game Developer Conference.
When it comes to the gaming market, Intel is at a bit of a disadvantage going up against AMD and Nvidia with their respective established bases.
These new chips are designed with heavy duty usage in mind, particularly for powerful gaming laptops.
Frederik Hamberger, General Manager, Premium and Gaming Notebook Segments at Intel, told PC World that the upcoming chips were launching “very, very soon.”
He added that one of the major aims of the new 9th-gen mobile chip is to provide longer battery life, to give gamers a “more rounded experience” of their notebooks.
The chips also aim to enable gamers to play AAA titles, with Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 (Gig+) delivering the latest Wi-Fi tech and Intel Optane memory to record and stream games without drops in performance or lags
No doubt, these chips would be infinitely useful to content creators and designers who require intensive video editing and designing software.
The company is also working on its Graphics Command Centre application ahead of the launch of its first discrete graphics cards — set for a 2020 release — that can identify and optimise games in one click.
As PC World reported, the early access variant can identify 30 games, but Intel has promised to continue to add more titles.
