Intel is employing its RealSense technology for the world-first Eyes on the Harbour installation at Darling Harbour, which will feature at the Vivid Sydney festival, making festival-goers part of the artwork.In its sixth consecutive year as a Vivid partner, Intel will use the RealSense tech to capture the faces of visitors in 3D and project them onto a 25-metre-high water screen.
Participants will also receive a link to a short movie of their face projected onto the water theatre, capable of being shared on social media.
The Laser-Dragon Water-Theatre, meanwhile will feature “a 13-metre robotic arm, dragon, fountains, powerful lasers and fire-jets to entertain and wow guests”, playing every half-hour, while in the interim, visitors will feature on Eyes on the Harbour.
Intel-sponsored screens fitted with free smartphone charging ports and RealSense tech will also be installed at Martin Place and Darling Harbour for public access during the festival.
Both screens by JCDecaux will allow the public to experience the RealSense tech on a firsthand basis, allowing visitors to “immerse themselves in a range of interactive and colourful worlds and backdrops, putting them inside various Vivid scenes”.
The screens will be live from May 31 – June 13, 6pm – 11pm, each night.
