Intel is set to hold a major press conference at CES in Las Vegas to launch their new quad-core Sandy Bridge notebooks.Several vendors are set to launch notebooks with the chipset at CES. The same manufacturers are also poised to launch a record 200 new products in the first half of 2011 that feature NVIDIA GeForce graphics processing units (GPUs), paired with the new generation of Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs.
The new Sandy Bridge processors will be quad core according to Intel executives who briefed analysts recently.
In Australia Intel will hold a press event on the 18th of January to introduce Sandy Bridge products.
According to several vendors that SmartHouse has spoken to most of the quad-core systems will be 15-inch and 17-inch designs. Toshiba said that they will have a new Portege 800 running with Sandy Bay processors.
Lenovo will have a 15.6-inch IdeaPad and Samsung a new 15 and 16.5″ notebook.
