Could we be holding iPad 3 in our palms as soon as April? |
The event will be a hallmark Apple standalone launch held during the first week of March in San Francisco, reports Wall Street Journal, citing ‘sources.’
However, many within the industry believe’ iPad 3′ won’t be anything to write home about and will be extremely similar specs wise to ‘2’, released in 2011.
Cupertino may even pull a iPhone 4S on it and christen the 2012 tab ‘iPad 2HD’, believes Kyle Wiens from iFixit, who has made pretty accurate predictions on Apple devices in the past.

However, it is widely believed the next version of iPad will sports 4G, Near Field Communications (NFC) and that Apple engineers will double the res of current iPad 2’s 1024X 768-pixel (132 ppi), meaning unbelievable screen clarity.
An all mighty quad-core processor has also been doing the rounds on the rumourmill.
Anyhew, the WSJ also believe ‘3’ will be released the following week after its SFO launch, meaning it could hit Oz just weeks later, possibly early April.
If this leaked info is true, this would mark exactly the two year anniversary release of the first iPad, which opened up the tab category that has since exploded.
