It may be the smallest iPad ever but demand is as maxi as ever.
Apple sold three million 7.9″ iPad mini Wifi and fourth gen 10″ iPad in just three days since the launch at the weekend it said today.
This massive global iPad sales boom was double the previous first weekend milestone of 1.5 million 3rd genWi-Fi-only iPad’s sold in March.
iPad mini announced last month starts at $329 but 3G models, although not yet available, are pricier.
“Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.
“We set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out of iPad minis. We’re working hard to build more quickly to meet the incredible demand.”
Analysts IDC are also predicting big things new iPad mini, who said today demand for iPad slumped in Q3 as consumer waited it out for mini tab.
The Wi-Fi + 3G versions of both iPad’s due in the coming week may spark a further pike in demand.
