Crestron in the USA has launched two new docking stations for the iPad and iPad 2.
The new devices are designed to turn the iPad into a tabletop or wall-mount touch screen for home control. The iPad docks have a list price in the USA of $370. Australians could end up paying double this.
The IDOC-PAD and IDOC-PAD2 (US$370 list price) come in gloss white or black and charge the iPad during use. Pressing the slim frame on the wall-mount model extends the dock, allowing users to slide the iPad in or out.
Crestron has a home-control iPad app for $99, known as the Mobile Pro G. It allows users to control lighting, thermostats and audio settings, among other things.
