The bets are on: Apple tipped to launch messianic iPhone 5 in September.Rumour has it there’s more to look forward to this September than the start of the good weather.
Well, thats according to Irish bookies Paddy Power who have slashed carrying odds of a September launch date from to 9/2 to 9/4. Several tech sites are also singing this same tune, and believe between September 5 – 7 to be ‘The Date.’
Others tip an iPhone 4 S could also emerge on the same day.
If this did occur, however unlikely, it would definitely garner huge attention for Apple and take some of the gloss off the Android releases hitting consumers at an ever astounding rate, including the Samsung Galaxy S and a stream of HTC Droids to name but a few.
“While little was disclosed about iPhone 5 during last week’s iCloud launch[during Apple’s WWDC keynote], our customers seem to be reading between the lines and now seem certain that a Fall launch is on the cards for Apple,” Paddy Powers technology betting expert Ken Robertson told Gadgets and Gizmos.
And whats more the fifth generation device is tipped to sport a curved screen, similar to the HTC Sensation and come preloaded with iOS 5, which comes out next month.
Other Apple bets of interest on Paddy Power (if not for their hilarity alone) include odds on it’s next CEO – Bill Gates 500/1 and Richard Branson 200/1.
But, worry not Tim Cook is odds on favourite to replace Steve Jobs at 1/5.
