Apple has a countdown timer running counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds until its highly anticipated iPhone 6 launch event kicks off at long last.
Excitement for Apple’s new iPhones has been high long before Steve Jobs went on stage at the Macworld expo in January 2007 to announce the iPhone was finally real and not just the figment of so many journalist’s imaginations.
Now, after 7 years, we’re finally about to see new large screen versions of the iPhone arrive, several years after the first Androids went past 5-inch screens and well beyond.
Apple doesn’t always make all of its events available to view via live stream, but increasingly this has been the case given Apple’s pre-eminent position as the world’s most valuable consumer electronics company and maker of the world’s most desirable tech products.
Happily and a little unusually, Apple has announced that a live stream will be available for anyone around the world to watch, direct from Apple’s site here.
As this article is being typed, a giant countdown timer says there are 4 days, 11 hours, 14 minutes and 18 seconds to go.
The text under the video says: “Live video from our special event will be right here. And so will a whole lot more.”
It continues, stating: “Join us at Apple.com on September 9 at 10 a.m. PDT to follow every moment.”
PDT is “Pacific Daylight Time”, meaning Californian time in the US.
For Australians, this is 3am on Wednesday, September 10, meaning many geeks and Apple fans are sure to look a little bleary eyed and come to work a little late on Wednesday!
