Apple iPhone customers are more likely to switch to the new HTC One Android phone than they are a Samsung Galaxy smartphone claims a senior HTC executive who will this week roll out the much acclaimed HTC One smartphone.

Jeremy Mathews Marketing Director at HTC has also said that he welcomes Samsung’s decision to launch their new Galaxy S4 on the same day as the roll out of HTC’s new HTC One claiming that the combined marketing of the two brands will drive consumers into stores.

“When consumers do compare the HTC One alongside the new Samsung offering I am confident that they will recognise that we are delivering a brand new smartphone Vs an upgraded smartphone. We have the styling and features that will appeal to people wanting to switch from an iPhone to a new smartphone, the HTC One offering is a fresh new design that will appeal to iPhone owners” he said.

“There are a lot of iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S customers whose contracts are now up, we are targeting these people with a very smart smartphone, that has a bigger screen, faster processor and more capability than older iPhones.  We believe more people will switch from an iPhone or even a Blackberry mobile to the HTC One than current Samsung Galaxy S3 customers” Mathews said.

This week HTC will launch a major TV, Billboard, Cinema and digital marketing campaign for the HTC One which has won acclaim around the world from reviewers.

The HTC One was originally due out a month ago. HTC had originally hoped to beat the Galaxy S4 to the market; however, due to issues with camera components, their releases have ended up being the same week as the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The HTC One brings a 4.7-inch 1080P HD display, all metal design and HTC Sense 5 to the table, with an emphasis on build quality. Samsung delivers a plastic design with a 5-inch 1080P HD display and focuses on software upgrades and a new motion sensors to stand apart. The Galaxy S4 offers eye-tracking, motion control and a touch free display.

The HTC one also has a Snapdragon 1.7GHz processor, LTE, NFC, 1080 x 1920 display and full 1080p video recording. The device can be purchased through various carriers as well as JB Hi Fi and specialist dealers.

J.P. Morgan estimates HTC One shipments will hit 2 million in May, signaling an end to any supply chain shortages.
