iPhone lovers – despair no longer.
That void in your life that’s been the long wait for the whiter than white Apple phone could be over if sources close to the company are to be believed.
After endless speculation, reports this morning tip the pale model to land to two US carriers, AT&T and Verizon Wireless by the end of April, Bloomberg reports.
And Apple could be hoping the new version could keep iPhone fans amused while it busies itself with the development of the iPhone 5, which may not be released until late this year or early 2012, latest reports indicate.
Phil Schiller, Apple’s VP of Marketing, said in a blog last month:”The white iPhone will be available this spring (and it is a beauty!).”
Many industry insiders had interpreted this to be a reference to the forthcoming iPhone 5, marking a year since the 4 release. However, the plot thickened even further just last week, when the display white model was taken down from the Apple website.
Following the release of the iPhone 4 last June, Apple said its white version had “proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July.”
However, almost nine months on ‘challenges’ clearly still exist, which brings one to ponder: is it worth the wait?
Let’s hope so.
