IPTV and the delivery of movie content is paying off for Telstra with total pay TV bundling revenue increasing by 15.8 percent to $286 million.Telstra said that customer growth was driven largely driven by new and existing Foxtel customers converting their service to a Foxtel from Telstra service in order to receive the entertainment bundling benefits.
Foxtel bundling increased by 6.0% resulting from strong sales of Platinum and Platinum HD packages.
T Box and T Hub sales increased to 214,000 units, both products were launched late in the first half of 2010.
Revenue from Foxtel went from $989M to $1078M. Telstra said that more than 120,000 consumers a week were now spending on average $4.00 a week buying content via their T Box or BigPond Movies connection.
