ReelTime, one of Australia’s first companies to offer video-on-demand, has announced a deal with 20th Century Fox to distribute their extensive catalogue.

Mr John Karantzis, Managing Director of ReelTime said “20th Century Fox is a major Hollywood studio and this deal brings ReelTime access to current box-office champions and some of the most popular films of all time, and is a very significant signing for ReelTime and for IPTV in Australia”.

Rachel Lehmann Ware, ReelTime’s group manager of products and marketing said while ReelTime is only available through Adelaide ISP Adam Internet at present, more ISPs would be announced in the coming weeks.

Adam Internet conducted trials of the service in November 2005 to 100 houses, and will roll out the service in March on Internet Protocol TV-capable Set Top Boxes and download to PC.

Late last year, BigPond announced a deal with Sony Pictures to distribute their films when the new Movies Downloads service is launched in March next year.

Despite Bigponds Movie Downloads coming online at the same, Adam Internet managing director Scott Hicks he said says he doesn’t believe BigPond movies will affect ReelTime at all, and added they may release the service to non-Adam customers sometime in the future, but this was “not a priority”.
