Apple’s OS X needs Apple Maps no one said ever.
A couple of features are tipped to be added to Apple’s computer software, OS X, but us Smarthouse folks don’t want them at all. The first feature tipped is their famed Siri assistant. Now while we’re lukewarm when it comes to Siri, the next one we flat out reject because its reveal on Apple’s smartphone platform, iOS, was a travesty.
It is Apple Maps. The scoop comes from 9to5Mac.com, who reported:
“Early builds in testing of the next-generation Mac operating system, OS X 10.9, point to Siri and Maps integration coming to Mac computers next year, according to our reliable sources.”

“With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.”
Not long after, Tim Cook fired the executive believed to have been responsible for Apple’s mapping software. Reports now suggest the Geniuses at Apple’s stores are reporting mapping fixes one shift at a time.

Perhaps we’re being a little brisk on this. Apple is clearly trying to bridge the divide isolating its computer OS with its mobile OS, which is an essential move if its devices are to work better with one another. We just hope the Apple boffins are hard at work making these applications as impeccable as the rest of Apple’s suite.
