The CEO of Bowers & Wilkins Asia, a UK Hi Fi Company, has revealed that Apple is directly working with B&W to deliver new sound technology; he has also said that Apple Australia is the third most successful Apple subsidiary in the world.
Lars Hundborg, the CEO of B&W Group Asia, who was in Australia to officially launch the new B&W Zeppelin, which is one of the first products to use Apple’s Air Play technology, said that the Zeppelin had already gone on sale in Apple shops and was a “huge” success with both Apple and retailers like Harvey Norman high levels of stock “way in excess” of what the company anticipated.

“We are currently working on new product development directly with Apple and I think you will see some interesting products launched in the future” he said.
He refused to say what those products were, despite speculation that B&W is developing a high end Zeppelin and other wireless enabled sound systems.
There is also speculation that Apple is developing in partnership with B&W an Apple branded sound system.
“Australia I am told is the third most successful operation for Apple, the new Zeppelin which went on sale in Apple stores last week has Apple very excited as it is their first Air Play product. We believe that the new Zeppelin is better looking than the Sonos offering. It also sounds better,” he said.
