Speculation is mounting today that Steve Jobs the CEO of Apple is sick and will not attend the Australian opening of Apple’s largest ever store. Images of him on stage at the launch this week of the new Apple 3G iPhone show him looking gaunt and thin compared to 6 months ago.
Attendees to the launch of the iPhone said that it appeared thatJobs, who battled pancreatic cancer in 2003, was again suffering from serious health problems.
According to the Los Angeles Times one tech analyst (who declined to be named out of fear of angering Apple) told the newspaper that after seeing photos of Jobs from the event, his clients were so worried that they searched the Web for old pictures of him. Their conclusion: If he were a boxer, he’d be fighting in a lower weight class.
The offical spin from an Apple spokeswoman that he was recovering from a “common bug that he got two weeks ago” and was taking antibiotics. “He didn’t want to miss” the developers conference, she said.

Insiders were speculating that Jobs who has never visited Australia and is not a fan of flying was set to jet in to Australia to open the new Apple Sydney store which is said to be the biggest in the world to date.
