Users can set it to expire after a specified time and set a low limit to “wind up” your friends as they race to see what you’ve posted, or set the limit high to make your message last longer.
It has just been released in Windows Phone app store for Windows 8/8.1.
Its no doubt Snapchat has proved a huge hit among Gen Y, so Microsoft will be hoping Windup will prove popular among messaging junkies.
Facebook launched its answer to Snapchat in Oz last week, called Bolt.
