Sharp has finally shown their Aquos Quattron 3D TV which incorporates a new Quattron engine technology which some observers claim delivers the best 3D TV technology seen this year.
SmartHouse will be given access to the new TV next week in Japan when we meet with Sharp engineers who have been working on the development of new LED technology for use in Sharp panels which are also used by Sony for their high end TV models.
At the IFA show in Berlin Sharp demonstrated how four colours 3D compares to three colours with observers claiming that the difference was “noticeable”. “Colours sparkled that little bit more and this seemed to enhance the effect of the 3D.” Tech Radar reported.
According to Sharp the fourth colour in the Quattron engine pimps out the yellow in an image which they claim delivers a better picture. At its most basic level, Quattron technology adds yellow, to the already present blue, green, and red hues used in traditional televisions. What this does, is make the colours on the screen far more “realistic,” while expanding them said Slash Gear.
It also increases the brightness by an estimated 1.8 times, when compared to other non-Quattro-fused sets. The TV will be launched in Australia by Xmas with their 60″ model described as the optimum 3D TV in the market today.
The models coming into Australia will incorporate new IPTV features as well as Aquos Net Plus, which will let you access things like Flickr and YouTube. Additionally, it will utilise Sharp’s Super Edge LED backlighting.
To stop judder, Sharp has squeezed in a 400 Hz processor which the Company claims delivers a smoother picture.
