MELBOURNE: HP Inc – a major player in the Australian office printing game – has struck a deal with Melbourne-based printer software outfit PaperCut, which develops software used internationally to monitor and analyse printer use.
PaperCut is said to have more than 100 million users in around 60,000 organisations across 95 nations.
The latest deal will see HP A/NZ offering to bundle Papercut with its printer sales and managed services.
It’s the second such deal in recent times by HP Oz. It recently inked a deal to offer Czech-based print management software vendor Y Soft’s products to Australia and New Zealand clients.
*Apologies to the late Bill Rose and Harold Arlen whose warm-hearted 1933 ditty “It’s Only a Paper Moon”, sung by Ella Fitzgerald – a hit at many a wartime party Down Under (CDN knows, one of us wuz there) – included the words: “It’s only a paper moon/Sailing over a cardboard sea/But it wouldn’t be make-believe/If you believed in me …” Might be a nice backgrounder to a future HP/Papercut tele-ad. – DF
