Jaycar Electronics is opening up a branch in Wagga Wagga to expand its list of stores in Australia and New Zealand to 72.
With a population of around 60,000 people and a range of electronics stores including Dick Smith, Radio Rentals and Betta Electrical, Jaycar faces competition from its established rivals.
Statistics from Wagga Wagga City Council put the average age of residents at 31 years and show that the average level of income is higher in the regional city than in metropolitan NSW, having more money to “spend on recreational pursuits.”
While competitors like Dick Smith are already established in Wagga Wagga, Jaycar sets itself apart from its competition by labelling themselves as a retailer for “electronics enthusiasts” rather than the average consumer.
The closest store prior to this new arrival was 130 kilometres from the city.
