JB Hi-Fi has created a one stop online store with the merging of their Digital Home web site into a new JB Hi Fi Online site mega site .The move will allow consumers to buy anything sold in a JB Hi Fi store online.
Currently arch rival Harvey Norman who was tipped to be rolling out a new site this year, has still not launched an online presence. The retailer, who is performing badly, when compared with JB Hi Fi, has been reluctant to invest in an online operation because of franchise issues with Harvey Norman store owners, who see a Harvey Norman site as taking business away from their stores.
In a statement issued to consumers who purchase through the Digital Home store JB Hi Fi said “Digital Home has now merged with its sister site JB Hi-Fi Online. This has created a one-stop, online superstore for all your consumer electronics, music, movies and games needs”
The new website can be found at http://www.jbhifionline.com.au
All Digital Home accounts have been transferred to the JB Hi-Fi Online site however previous Digital Home purchases will not be available at the new website.
JB Hi Fi said that they will leave the old website www.digitalhome.com.au/myAccount open so customers can check previous order details and print tax invoices. Any leftover gift voucher balances will be transferred from Digital Home to JB Hi-Fi Online.
The online web site www.digitalhome.com.au was sold to JB Hi Fi by the writer of this story.
