Top end German appliance Company Miele has launched a new all singing all dancing ironing system but it appears that mass appliance retailers like JB Hi Fi Home don’t have the right audience for the device that sells for $2,100.
This is despite the fact that JB Hi Fi Home is selling $4,000 French door refrigerators and $10,000 4K TV’s along with Sonos and Bose sound systems.
When asked whether the new device would be sold in a JB Hi Fi stores a Miele executive initially said “We don’t sell Miele in JB Hi Fi stores”.
When it was pointed out that JB Hi Fi Home was already stocking Miele products the executive said “Oh that will be our bottom end range”.
ChannelNews believes that the new Miele FashionMaster would be a top seller at JB Hi Fi as research shows the retailers attracts consumers who have a high income and are prepared to fork out $2,500 on a new notebook or thousands on a new appliance. The device is also a perfect Xmas present from dads who appreciate the work mum does or for mothers who want to keep their cleaning ladies happy.
“Maybe Miele don’t like the idea of Miele products being discounted” said one person attending the Miele event.
The new Miele FashionMaster steam ironing system combines a hand iron with honeycomb soleplate, that is attached to an active ironing table and steam generator that is housed in an easy to store system that can be folded up and wheeled away.
The wheels on the base of the system allow for easy movement of the system and a click of a handle drops the legs out for the adjustable ironing table.
As for the iron itself the honeycomb sole plate which is exclusive to Miele delivers even steam distribution across the entire area of the soleplate, this Miele claims making ironing easier.
The active ironing board can be easily adjusted and a built in fan enables a suction feature to be activated so that an item being ironed can be inflated at the touch of a button.
This allows steam to penetrate a garments holding it in place securely while being ironed it prevents build-up of condensate.
A new hand held steam jet which can be used for that a quick makeover of a garment can be accessed when the Fashion Master is folded away, the steam head which is on a flexible cord sits on the top of the device.
The steam feature is ideal for hanging jackets, evening dresses, even curtains, it eliminates shiny patches on textiles as it does not feature a hot soleplate.
A brush attachment raises the pile on fabrics and ensures a safe distance from and gentle care of fabric.
