The new 7 series of JBL’s Grand Touring (GTO) loudspeakers for cars will be in stores at the end of July, the manufacturer has announced.
JBL has designed the new series for easier installation, according to a statement. The speakers in the range have also been designed to offer 2 Ohms impedance to enhance output and system efficiency.
The manufacturer has also addressed the issue of high frequency reproduction with the inclusion of My-Ti tweeters, which have an ultra-light titanium-coated Mylar cone. A switch has been included on the tweeter to easily adjust the pitch at any time. The tweeter mounting is angled and rotatable.
As with past GTO models, the 7 series has PlusOne cone included as standard. A special method is used to attach the rubber surround to maximise the effective cone area, which allows for higher volume pressure in the low frequency range.
There will be 11 models in the 7 series range when it hits stores at the end of July. Retail prices will range from $99 for a 10cm two-way system through to #329 for a 12-inch bass-reflex subwoofer box.
