JBL has set a new benchmark in loudspeaker design and technology with the launch of its HDI Series, due for release in March.
Leveraging some of JBL most advanced technologies and acoustic performance capabilities, according to Jim Garrett, Senior Director, Product Strategy and Planning, HARMAN Luxury Audio, the HDI series will incorporate ‘professional-grade compression drivers’.
With the use of HDI waveguides, the new series of speakers ‘deliver incredibly realistic dynamics and lifelike imaging that makes music and movies come alive’.
According to Australian distributor Convoy, the HDI Series will be available around the end of March 2020, with pricing information coming from StereoNet.
Within the range is the HDI-3800 triple 8-inch floor stander selling for $8,999, the HDI-3600 triple 6.5-inch floor stander ($6,999), HDI-1600 6.5-inch bookshelf ($3,499), HDI-4500 quadruple 5.25-inch centre channel ($5,999), and HDI-1200P 1,000 Watt powered subwoofer ($5,499).
JBL also offers optional floor stands for the HDI-1600 for $899.
Based upon JBL’s patented 2410H-2 compression driver, the entire range utilises a lightweight, polymer, annular diaphragm capable of extending high-frequency range by reducing diaphragm mass.
The addition of its V-shaped geometry and JBL’s Advanced Aluminum Matrix cones also helps to reduce distortion.
It’s design features elegant cabinetry, with flush-mounted woofers with magnetically attached grilles.
Each of the bookshelf and floor standing speakers boasts a gloss black plinth integrated into the base of the cabinet.
The range of speakers is available in either painted high-gloss black, satin walnut wood veneer, and satin grey oak wood veneer.
