Keiichi Katsuta is Sharp new Managing Director in AustraliaSharp Australia has appointed Keiichi “Kasey” Katsuta as Managing Director to oversee the overall control, strategic direction of all corporate operations in the Australian business.
Former Managing Director, Masashi Uchiyama, is to return to Japan to take up senior role with Sharp’s Energy Solution business. The move was in accordance with his wishes, CN has been told.
Joe Costantino has also been appointed Sharp’s new Deputy Managing Director effective immediately to help the new MD.
He was previously Director of Sales and Marketing at the company.
A Sharp veteran, Katsuta has had a 32-year career with the tech giant and has worked across several overseas subsidiaries, including the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.
He previously served as Deputy General Manager for Emerging Business in Japan, responsible for the overall direction and management of new business in overseas markets.
“I am excited to be joining the Sharp Australia team. With new technologies emerging, it is my aim to make sure the company delivers in every area to build on the brand legacy in Australia,” he said.
He commences the role on the 16th June, 2014.
Just recently, Sharp Australia began selling directly online to consumers.
