Chocolate and computer games sound like an ideal combination for computer nerds – but not for global food giant Nestlé.

The maker of the iconic Kit Kat chocolate wafer bars has become embroiled in legal battle with another iconic company, Atari.

Atari has accused the Swiss food company of pilfering its classic 1970s video game Breakout to promote Kit Kats and boost sales.

It also accuses Nestlé of damaging its goodwill and reputation on Facebook, Twitter and television by exploiting the name, look and feel of the 1970s Atari classic game Breakout.

Breakout was created by two Atari workers, Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, before their Apple days, and requires a player to knock down rows of colored bricks with an electronic paddle.
