Kogan.com has further intensified competition in the home appliance market, launching its new ‘affordable’ whitegoods and kitchen appliance range – starting from $59, with a two-year standard warranty.
In early June, Kogan.com announced it was taking on ALDI, Harvey Norman and The Good Guys, by launching a series of budget home appliances using the Kogan “business model”:
“We are excited to be applying our business model to this industry and making the most in-demand products more affordable for all Australians,” affirmed Founder and CEO Ruslan Kogan.
Mr Kogan claimed local appliance prices were impaired by poor delivery logistics for bulky appliances – a fact he pledged to rectify.
Kogan.com’s new whitegoods and appliance range claims to be “high-quality” and “low cost”, encompassing 20 products from launch today.
The new range includes a 60cm fixed rangehood ($59), electric built-in oven ($199), gas/ceramic cooktops (from $149), a 323L bottom mount refrigerator ($459), freestanding 4.5 start dishwasher ($299) and 7.5kg front loader washing machine ($349).
The local e-commerce giant claims similar quality products would ordinarily set consumers back “double or triple the price”, with its new range tipped to be a “game changer” for the local market.
The company claims the new range features some of the lowest priced appliances currently on the Australian market.
Kogan.com Director of Exclusive Brands, Sergiy Bobrovnychyy, asserts Aussies have faced restricted appliance pricing for a long time, with the company on track to shift this:
“For a long time, Aussies have been faced with limited options resulting in a lack of competitive tension and pricing”
“Our customers have been calling out for someone to disrupt this market and that’s exactly what we’re here to do. We’re committed to making the most in-demand products and services more affordable.”
Kogan.com states its initial appliance range will grow further in the “years to come”, with Aussies “more comfortable” to shop online than ever before.
