The latest Apple iOS update 11.4 is causing drama for a number of iPhone users with many of them experiencing their batteries rapdily draining and apps crashing.
The iOS 11.4 update includes AirPlay 2 multi-room audio, support for HomePod stereo pairs, and Messages in iCloud. This update also includes bug fixes and improvements.
Users have taken to social media and Apple community forums expressing their concerns over the latest update.
One user on the Apple community forum posted, “Why and how do I fix the new issue with battery drain after updating to iOS 11.4? Before updating, might loose as much as 10% overnight on my 6s. After update it now drains completely from 100% over the course of the night to the point that it won’t start until I plug it in and let it charge a bit. iPad air2 drains much more as well, but not to the same extreme.”
A Twitter user asked if anyone else’s iPhone was freezing after updating to 11.4.

Oh. So i thought it was just me. The recent @facebook @messenger app just keeps on crashing with its latest update.

The update was made available globally on May 29.
Earlier in the year, Apple was accused of purposely slowing down its iPhones so its customers would have to keep on updating to newer devices.
Apple has admitted to this action with the company trying to make amends by bringing out a new feature where users can check on their battery health and a discount on replacement batteries for 2018 only.
In Australia, the price of a replacement iPhone battery has been dropped from $119 to $39.
The upcoming iOS 12 is helping users try and spend less time on devices and fix bugs that are in iOS 11.
