New images circulating online have provided a clearer look at DJI’s unannounced Avata 360 drone, lifting the lid on its design and some of its more unusual features. The leak appears to show the full airframe and controller, giving the strongest indication yet of how DJI plans to position its next compact drone.
Shared on social media by well-known leaker Igor Bogdanov, the images show a quadcopter with a distinctive camera module that can physically rotate. This rotating housing sets the Avata 360 apart from other compact 360-degree drones, including the recently launched Antigravity A1. Interestingly, packaging for the Avata 360 had already surfaced online earlier, suggesting the product is well advanced in development.
The rotating camera system appears to allow the drone to switch between full 360-degree capture and a more conventional forward-facing view. That flexibility would let pilots shoot immersive footage and then transition to traditional FPV-style video without changing hardware. The approach echoes DJI’s Osmo 360 action camera, which also blends different shooting perspectives in a single device.
Leaked visuals suggest the camera uses two lenses positioned in opposite directions, with one facing outward and the other angled inward. The controller display shown in the leak appears to present a standard FPV feed rather than a stitched 360-degree image, hinting that users may be able to choose how footage is captured and viewed during flight.

Early specifications linked to the Avata 360 point to video recording at up to 8K resolution, powered by dual 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensors. If accurate, those larger sensors should deliver stronger low-light performance and improved dynamic range compared with smaller action-style cameras.
Previous rumours have also suggested DJI intends to price the Avata 360 competitively. Based on figures circulating in China, the drone could launch at approximately $A420, potentially making it one of the more affordable ways to access high-resolution 360-degree aerial footage. While DJI has yet to confirm any details, the steady stream of leaks suggests an official announcement may not be far off.
