LED TV War Heats Up

Sharp has launched its new LED-backlit LCD TV in an effort to take on market leader Samsung.

The LC-40LE700X has a low power consumption of 139W, a backlight life of 100,000 hours, and comes with a six-star energy rating. It has a dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 and uses Sharp’s new X-Gen panel with Advanced Pixel control that minimises light leakage. It is compatible with 1080/24P signal input for reproducing film frame rates as experienced in a cinema and 100/120Hz technology that reduces judder.
 
The model also comes with the following ports: HDMI x 3, AV-In x 2, Component x 2, S-Video In, PC In as well as AV, Optical Audio and headphone out terminals. Additionally, the HDMI and AQUOS Link feature allows users to seamlessly control compatible HDMI connected products using a single remote control.

Other features include an inbuilt digital tuner and Teletext and Freeview compatibility.
 
The LC-40LE700X is available now in a 40-inch model for $2,999.
