Lexmark’s new portable photo printer (P350) promises vibrant, borderless photos in as little in 75 seconds with up to 4800 x 1200 dpi resolution thanks to new ink technology.
The company’s Evercolor II pigmented ink technology is meant to be used with Lexmark’s new PerfectFinish Photo Paper, a micro-porous photo paper. Lexmark says that compared with conventional dye-based inks, the Evercolor II pigmented inks dry more quickly and are highly resistant to water. The photos produced with the paper and inks will last up to 100 years in a frame and up to 200 years in an album, Lexmark claims.
The portable unit can standalone or be hooked up to a PC or Mac. Users can print directly via memory cars, PictBridge compatible digital cameras, USB or by purchasing an adapter, from a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone.
You can view photos directly on the 2.4 inch colour display on the printer, in order to make quick edits – such as red-eye reduction or adding sepia or black and white effects. Lexmark’s Fast Pics software is included for photo editing and management via a PC.
