LG have announced that a beefier version of their flagship G6 smartphone is on the way, appropriately called the G6 +.
This supercharged version of the LG G6 features 128GB of onboard storage, 6GB of RAM and comes bundled with premium earphones (built by audio brand B&O PLAY) to take full advantage of the 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC capabilities of the smartphone.
“LG’s G series has always been about offering innovation and technology that we believe will appeal to as many customers as possible,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
The G6 Plus will be available in Optical Astro Black, Optical Marine Blue and Optical Terra Gold variants.
LG say that in certain (unspecified) territories, the device will come with wireless charging as well.
The original G6 will also be receiving some upgrades, with Optical Marine Blue and Optical Terra Gold colors set to round out the device’s current palette and several new features to be added in via software update, including new Low Power Consumption and Covered Lens warnings and facial recognition unlocks.
“By expanding the G6 lineup with differentiating features and colors, consumers will have even more options to consider when shopping for a new smartphone,” Cho says.
Australian pricing and availability for the G6 Plus is still to be confirmed.
