LG has beaten Samsung to Google TV with executives at CES confirming that LG will have access to the next version of Google’s TV offering ahead of any other TV vendor.During demonstrations at CES LG executives said that the company was very close to delivering an LG Google TV that will run Android 4.0 with the company having already integrated the software with current applications that run on an LG Smart TV.
The device allows users to access the Android Market as well as LG’s own range of Smart TV apps according to a Korean executive who attended our demonstration.
That television, which also boasts LG’s passive Cinema 3D tech, features Google TV version 2.0 – offering a big improvement on the original iteration.
The TV comes with a redesigned Magic Remote, which features a full QWERTY keyboard as well as voice and motion control.
The TV is tipped to go on sale in Australia in May 2012.
