LG raise the smartphone bar, unveiling a superphoneLG introduced the super-spec G3 smartphone at events in London, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul, overnight. Telstra today confirmed G3 will be available in August, but no pricing yet.
It has amazing specs for a smartphone and definitely puts it up to Samsung S5 and HTC One M8 – a larger 5.5″ Quad HD display (2560 x 1440) with 538ppi and twice the resolution of Full HD, quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (runs up to 2.5GHz), and a 13 mp camera with Optical Image Stabilizer Plus and “revolutionary” Laser Auto Focus takes shots in seconds.
G3’s near zero bezel makes the screen to phone ratio the highest on any smartphone.
Here’s the really clever thing: all you have to do is clench your fist to pre time a selfie. The G3’s 2.1MP front camera has a larger image sensor and aperture that lets in more light for selfie pics.

are calling the LG smartphone “the most advanced one we’ve seen yet.”
It has 16/32GB eMMC ROM, 2/3GB DDR3 RAM / microSD slot (128GB max), and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
G3 comes in five shades” Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet, Burgundy Red and the rear has polished metallic skin and has a “Floating Arc” form factor that feels comfortable in hand. The bezel is thinner so is more comfy despite having a larger 5.5″ screen.

LG say “simple is the new smart” and have redesigned G3 with a simpler to use, clean interface.
“The smartest innovation in a fast evolving smartphone market is creating harmony between advanced technology and a simplified user experience,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, CEO of the LG Mobile.
“LG G3 is the result of our effort to actualize that idea into a tangible product. And we are extremely pleased with the result.”
G3’s 3,000mAh removable battery has longer life despite the quad core processor, by replacing the metal in the battery cathode with graphite.
The ‘Smart Keyboard’ reduces input errors by tracking and analyzing typing habits and “knowing” what word the user wants to type. The height of the keyboard can also be adjusted to better fit the user’s hands and thumbs. Individual keys can also be customized.
“Do you need an umbrella?
LG’s Smart Notice personal assistant remind you of a call you declined earlier or if you have a large number of unused files or apps, it will suggest deleting them. It also has natural language capabilities like Siri to make a recommendation such as, “You may want to take an umbrella today.”
Security wise, you can unlock G3 with a pattern of taps called Knock Code, which also wakes the screen to check the time or enter the home screen directly. Kill Switch gives G3 owners the ability to disable their phones remotely in the event of theft, and Content Lock keeps personal files safe and hidden from view.
