LG who are struggling to deliver their new G3 smartphone in Australia appear to have become a victim of local carrier testing and the need for Australian software implementation with several third world Countries already selling the new device which will go on sale late in July along with the new LG Smart Watch.
Three weeks ago media were briefed on the new G3 however no samples were handed out for testing. The device is already on sale in several Countries including the Philippines and Indonesia with local LG management blaming the need for local software implementation and the 12 weeks carriers demand for testing on their networks.
When it was pointed out that brands such as Samsung and Apple faced the same content and testing demands LG management said that they were restricted by LG Korea and their launch schedules.
The Korean Company who recently dumped the Ogilvy & Mather owned Pulse PR Company who operated as LG One for a new agency is now claiming that the new G3 will be available for review by the 23rd of July.
The smartphone is the first Quad HD-equipped handset to ship in Australia, it comes with high-resolution 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 display outdoing Samsung’s S5 and HTC’s 1080p flagship M8.
When LG announced the G3 in June they said that the launch was three weeks away.
The LG G3 is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and 3GB of RAM, it has a high-end 13-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats and Selfies.
The LG G3 will ship with 32GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128GB microSD cards. It will run Android 4.4 KitKat and pack in a large removable 3,000 mAh battery.
LG Australia have also confirmed that they will launch both the G3 and their new LG Watch at the same time.
The LG G Watch is officially the first Android Wear smartwatch, it is already on sale in several Countries around the world.
LG G Watch, Moto 360 and Samsung Gear Live all have similar specs while the LG Watch has big screen with a 1.65-inch LCD IPS and a resolution of 128 x 128.
It’s slightly bigger than the Samsung Gear Live, which is 16.3 Super AMOLED display, the same size as the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. It’s also sharper with a 320 x 320 resolution.
The LG device has a slightly larger battery that’s 400mAh vs Samsung’s 300mAh.
The LG G Watch also features an always-on display, lightweight design and overall tough form factor when compared to other smart watches.
Back by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and 512MB of memory that match the Samsung Gear Live.
