Yesterday was all about OLED and Ultra High Definition TVs, but when the CES Show officially opened today LG and Samsung had a surprise in store with both companies showing off new curved OLED TVs.We’re not sure why Samsung and LG chose to keep quiet about the curved TV until today but what we saw was very sexy with both vendors claiming the new design creates a more panoramic, more immersive viewing experience, and improves viewing angles from the side.
Looking at a movie on the screen was a bit like watching a mini version of iMax
The 55in televisions are due to go on sale in the second half of the year, with both companies refusing to put a price on the curved TV models or say whether they will be launched in Australia.
“Samsung is dedicated to developing innovation television, beyond what consumers could ever expect or imagine,” said HS Kim, executive vice-president of visual display business, Samsung Electronics. “We will continue our tradition by steadily introducing TV technology that helps enhance the lives of users.”
